Tata Institute of Fundamental Research conducts the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). JGEEBILS 2026 is a common entrance examination to offer admission in Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc and PhD graduate programmes. The complete schedule of JGEEBILS 2026 has been released by the authority. The application process can be done from September 27 to October 26, 2025. JGEEBILS 2026 exam will be conducted on December 14, 2025. A total of 19 institutes are participating to grant admission through the JGEEBILS 2026 exam.
TIFR Nationwide Entrance Examination for Biology, JGEEBILS is held in the computer-based mode for a time duration of 3 hours across 57 cities. A total of 60 questions are asked from general, physics, chemistry and biology subjects. 1 mark is awarded to each correct answer in section A and 2 marks for section B. 0.5 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
Candidates who wish to join the TIFR JGEEBILS institutions for the respective programmes will have to appear for the written test to secure admissions. All the participating institutions use the JGEEBILS score as a part of their admission process, but each institution has its own admission procedure. Students need to apply separately to each JGEEBILS participating institution by visiting each institution's website.
